Ever wonder what it would be like if your GTA character was conscious?

It’s a thought that reasonably crosses one’s mind as they go gallivanting through Los Santos, running red lights, and not saying sorry when they bump into people. What would my character be thinking if he were “real.”

Would he feel bad for driving his off-road modified supercar into a mountain lion? Would they regret blowing up that gas station? Would they feel fear when they strap into the cockpit of a jumbo jet for the first time? Would they be aware that they can’t leave their little island?

While we never let the thoughts linger for more than a single crime spree, Ryan Reynolds’ new movie, Free Guy, gives us all the chance to sit down and really think about the idea of video game characters having at least a semblance of consciousness.

What are your thoughts on the subject?
